Box Score GROVE CITY, Pa. -- A late run made the difference on the road for the Marymount University men's lacrosse team, as the Saints dropped a non-conference tilt to Grove City College.
The Blue and White stuck with the Wolverines throughout the tilt, but the home side found its offensive groove over the final two quarters. Grove City netted six goals in the third frame and four in the fourth to pull away from the Saints.
Marymount peppered Grove City's cage with 34 shots throughout the tilt and went a near-perfect 23-for-25 on clear attempts. Despite the effort in the midfield, the Saints were unable to slow the Wolverines' balanced attack.
On offense, the Saints were paced by Troy Tangolics and Clark Akers. Akers netted three goals, while Tangolics finished with two goals and two assists. Paul Vey turned in a multi-point effort with two goals and one assist, while Chris Bochilo (1g-1a), Gavin Taylorson (1g-1a), and Hunter Ralston (2a) each finished with two points.
Brandon Hall picked up a team-best five ground balls, while Joseph Sciortino added three ground balls. Jack Mattimore led the Blue and White's defense with three caused turnovers. In goal, Hall tallied 11 saves. \
The Saints are back in action on Sunday, March 20, when they play Westminster College (Pa.) at 1:00 p.m.
