Arlington, Va. – Marymount University's men's lacrosse team put together an impressive come-from-behind victory to defeat visiting Wesley 9-7 in Capital Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon. The Saints trailed 5-1 late in the second quarter before closing out the final 33 minutes of the game on an 8-2 run.

Connor Kellogg led the Saints (5-7, 2-4 CAC) with a game-high four goals while Danny Carson added a pair. David Huson, Eric Martin and Ronnie Sanna each scored for the Blue and White as well.

Wesley (2-9, 2-4 CAC) set the pace early, posting a pair of early goals and slowing down the flow of the game. Kellogg would cut the deficit to just one after his first goal at the 4:13 mark.

In the second quarter, the Wolverines collected three unanswered goals over the first five minutes of the frame to lead 5-1. The Saints would net back-to-back goals from Carson and Kellogg within a minute of each other with three minutes to play but WC responded on the ensuing possession to score and take a 6-3 lead into halftime.

Coming out of the break, Marymount dominated the second half of the game. Trading goals to start the scoring in the third quarter, the Saints shut down Wesley the rest of the way courtesy of five unanswered goals and a shutout fourth quarter.

Ross Fernandez collected 12 saves for the Saints in goal for the win.

Scott Brozey led the Wolverines with two goals.

Marymount returns to action on Wednesday in its home finale against CAC foe Stevenson.
