MLAX: Saints Top Immaculata in Gritty Overtime Win

IMMACULATA, Pa — One year after falling to Immaculata in the conference championship, the Saints returned to Draper Walsh Stadium and flipped the script, grinding out a 7-6 overtime victory to open conference play. In a back-and-forth battle, Marymount showed resilience, answering every run before delivering the final blow in extra time.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Saints wasted no time setting the tone, jumping out to a 2-0 lead behind early finishes from James Elko and Matthew Kurczeski, with Kurczeski cashing in on a man-up opportunity. Immaculata responded late in the first and carried momentum into the second, scoring twice to take a 4-2 lead heading into halftime. Coming out of the break, Marymount flipped the momentum. Braden Miller got things started before Ian Fructuoso and William Cate followed suit, tying the game at 5-5 during a critical third-quarter surge. In the fourth, James Doss gave the Saints the edge with a go-ahead finish, but Immaculata answered in the final seconds of regulation to send the game to overtime. In extra time, Marymount controlled possession and found its moment. Santino Rossitto delivered the dagger, finishing a feed from Matthew Mulkins to seal a 7-6 overtime win.
