HADDONFIELD, N.J.— Marymount University saw three student-athletes recognized by the Atlantic East this week, as Ben Smallwood (baseball), Connor Howard (men's lacrosse), and Bailey Demusz (softball) each earned weekly honors following standout performances for the Saints.
Ben Smallwood – Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Junior Ben Smallwood delivered a complete-game performance to open the Saints' series against Marywood, earning Atlantic East Pitcher of the Week recognition. The right-hander allowed just one earned run on four hits across 105 pitches, striking out three while issuing no walks. Smallwood worked efficiently throughout the outing, consistently attacking the zone to keep the Pacers off balance from start to finish.
Connor Howard – Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week
First-year goalkeeper Connor Howard anchored the Saints in net in a key win over preseason conference favorite Immaculata. Howard made 15 saves on 33 shots faced, allowing just six goals while adding nine ground balls. His presence in the cage helped limit scoring opportunities and played a pivotal role in securing the victory.
Bailey Demusz – Softball Pitcher of the Week
Senior Bailey Demusz continued her strong form in the circle, earning weekly honors after two dominant starts. Demusz did not allow an earned run across 12.0 innings pitched, striking out 13 while giving up just eight hits and one walk. Her command and consistency were instrumental in the Saints' success throughout the week.
