NORFOLK, Va. – Marymount men's lacrosse put together a strong offensive showing Thursday afternoon, taking down Berry College 11-7 at Norfolk Christian Upper School to wrap up their spring break trip.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Marymount jumped out early and never looked back. James Doss opened the scoring before James Elko and William Cate followed with quick strikes to give the Saints an early three-goal cushion.
Berry battled back in the second quarter and briefly cut the lead to one, but Marymount responded with a surge of offense late in the half. Goals from Wyatt Labonte, Elko, and Santino Rossitto pushed the Saints ahead 8-6 at the break.
The Saints took control after halftime. Rossitto opened the third quarter scoring before connecting with Elko for another finish to stretch the lead. Marymount's defense held Berry scoreless in the third while the offense continued to pepper the cage, eventually sealing the 11-7 victory.Â
