Seven Awards, One Statement Week for the Saints

HADDONFIELD, N.J. — Marymount Athletics continues to build momentum across the spring season, earning a sweep of weekly honors behind record-breaking performances, dominant outings on the diamond, and key contributions across multiple programs.

Sam Struggs - Men's Track Athlete of the Week
Leading the charge, Sam Struggs delivered a historic showing at the Eastern Shore Challenge to earn Men's Track Athlete of the Week honors. The sophomore sprinter raced to a first-place finish in the 100m dash with a program-record time of 10.79. Struggs also played a key role in another record-breaking effort, running a leg of the 4x400 relay that clocked in at 3:31.30 to set a new Marymount standard.

Brier Amerlinck - Women's Track Athlete of the Week
On the women's side, Brier Amerlinck secured Women's Track Athlete of the Week recognition following a strong performance in the 1500m. The distance runner placed second overall at the Eastern Shore Challenge, crossing the finish line in 5:07.75 to lead the Saints in the event.

Valeria Gutierrez De Oliveira - Softball Player of the Week
At the plate, Valeria Gutierrez De Oliveira powered the Saints to a four-game win streak to earn Softball Player of the Week honors. The shortstop was nearly unstoppable, batting .636 across 11 at-bats while tallying two home runs and three doubles. She drove in 10 RBI and posted a 1.455 slugging percentage, serving as a catalyst for Marymount's offensive success.

Bailey Demusz - Softball Pitcher of the Week
In the circle, Bailey Demusz turned in a dominant week to claim Softball Pitcher of the Week recognition. The senior righty tossed back-to-back complete games, earning two wins while allowing just one unearned run over 14.0 innings pitched. Demusz came within one out of a no-hitter against Centenary and finished the week with 10 strikeouts.

Evan Schick - Baseball Player of the Week
On the baseball diamond, Evan Schick delivered a standout offensive performance to earn Player of the Week honors. The graduate student hit .643 on the week, recording four doubles while slugging 1.071. Schick also reached base at a .714 clip, playing a key role in Marymount's series victory over Gwynedd Mercy.

Connor Howard - Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week
In men's lacrosse, goalkeeper Connor Howard anchored the Saints' defensive effort to earn Defensive Player of the Week recognition. Howard secured the win in net, allowing just four goals while making 11 saves on 25 shots faced, helping limit the opposition and control the pace of play.

Eshan Degamwar - Men's Tennis Player of the Week
Rounding out the honors, Eshan Degamwar earned Men's Tennis Player of the Week recognition following a strong showing against Pratt. The junior went undefeated on the day, capturing a hard-fought three-set victory at No. 1 singles, 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-6). Degamwar also teamed up with Joaquin Sigala to earn a 6-3 win at No. 1 doubles, maintaining his perfect mark in conference play.
