WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Marymount University baseball team scored early and often on its way to a 17-1 victory over Gallaudet University on Wednesday night.

The Saints scored in all but two of the nine innings including eight runs in the second inning to blow open the score for a comfortable lead. 

Through 17 hits in the game, the Saints were led by freshman Ryan Lee with three hits, while four others connected on two. Freshman Ryan Maylie drove in three RBI, while seniors Conner Hall and Cal Berman combined for five more RBI. With many different Saints seeing the plate, 13 rounded the bases to touch home plate.

Toeing the rubber for his second start of the season was junior Justin DiDonato, tossing 5.1 innings for five hits, five strikeouts and no runs to earn the win. Five freshmen followed him, combining for just two hits through 4.2 innings and five strikeouts. Freshmen Bryce Smith and Brett Kelley each landed two strikeouts, while Smith saw just two batters and struck out both. 

The Saints return to Nationals Youth Academy on Thursday, April 18 for another non-conference game, taking on Washington & Lee University for a single nine-inning game at 1 p.m.
