BASE: Saints Season Ends at NCAA Regionals

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. -- Marymount baseball bowed out of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday, falling to Ramapo College 14-9.

After dropping the opening game to #4 Salve Regina, the Saints looked to keep their hopes alive in today's elimination game, but fell short after an offensive battle. Marymount finishes the season 27-19 overall, with another Atlantic East Conference Championship and NCAA Tournament appearance under their belt.

Salve Regina took an early lead in the second inning when Elliot Hamilton scored on an RBI single by James Anastasopoulos. This gave Salve Regina a 1–0 lead through two innings.

Salve Regina extended its lead in the third inning. Evan O'Rourke scored on a single by Brady Smolinski, making it 2–0 through three innings.

In the fourth inning, Salve Regina added another run. Elliot Hamilton scored on a single by Anastasopoulos, increasing the lead to 3–0.

The fifth inning saw Salve Regina break the game open with five runs. Highlights included a triple by Dylan Cimini, an RBI double by Elliot Hamilton, and sacrifice flies by Grady Schopps and James Anastasopoulos. Salve Regina led 8–0 after five innings.

Dylan Cimini hit a solo home run in the sixth inning, pushing Salve Regina's lead to 9–0.

The Saints managed to keep Salve Regina scoreless in the seventh inning, but Salve Regina scored two more runs in the eighth, courtesy of a home run by Evan O'Rourke and an RBI groundout by Jake Harring, making it 11–0.

In the ninth inning, the Saints got on the board. Evan Schick scored on a single by Joshmar Carbonell, and Mekhi Motilewa, who pinch ran for Anthony Farmakides, scored on a single by Quincy Via. This concluded the game with Salve Regina securing an 11–2 victory over the Saints.

The Saints faced a challenging start against Ramapo, allowing five runs in the first inning. Julian Schultz's single to right center brought home two runs, followed by a two-RBI double from Dan Maglio, which set the score at 5-0 after the first inning.

In the fourth inning, the Saints got on the board when Seth Sadler singled to left field, driving in Francis Swekosky. However, Ramapo responded in the bottom half, with Schultz hitting a solo homer and another run scoring due to a fielding error, bringing the score to 9-1.

Marymount (Va.) narrowed the gap in the fifth inning. Schick doubled down the left field line, bringing in two runs, and Cuadros added a run with a sacrifice fly. This reduced the deficit to 11-4.

Ramapo extended its lead in the sixth inning with a two-run homer by Zach Novakowski, pushing the score to 13-4.

The Saints mounted a late rally in the eighth inning. Schick's single to right field drove in two runs, and Anthony Farmakides added an RBI single, trimming Ramapo's lead to 14-7.

In the ninth inning, Marymount (Va.) continued to fight back, as Via doubled to left center, scoring Gray Ellenburg. A bases-loaded walk to Cuadros brought in another run, but it wasn't enough to close the gap entirely.

Ramapo secured a 14-9 victory over the Saints.
