WINCHESTER, Va. - The Marymount University baseball team slipped in non-conference play on Tuesday afternoon to Shenandoah University, dropping an 18-5 decision in the single nine-inning game. 

The Saints remained close through the first two innings, leading 2-1 after the top of the second following a wild-pitch score by senior Michael Wade followed by a RBI single by senior Conner Hall to score senior Austin Sizemore. 

However, the Hornets answered in the bottom of the frame to draw the game even at 2-2 before adding eight more in the third to grab a comfortable lead that held the rest of the way. 

In the late innings and some lineup changes, Marymount added three more runs on their 10 total hits for the game. The top of the seventh sophomore Jake Mellor ripped a two-RBI double to right field to score junior Griffin Kime and freshman Nick Kondichook. In the next inning, sophomore Bryan Harris lined a double to left field to bring home sophomore Bill Wojcik.

The Saints will look to rebound on Wednesday night, April 17, with a make-up game at Gallaudet University. The nine-inning game is set for 7 p.m.
