GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. -- Marymount University women's basketball team stormed through Gwynedd Mercy's court, determined to leave a mark. Closing out the game 71-53 by the final buzzer, the Saint's now boat a 5-3 conference record.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Initially, Gwynedd Mercy started the game off with a 5 point lead.
- Marymount took back the lead 3 minutes later, with a shots made by Kelly Ceroll and Kaylah Barr.
- Sitting at 6-5, Marymount doubled their lead to 10-5 by the 5th minute of the game.
- The Saints stayed consistent, maintaining their doubled lead of 12-6 with the help of a jumper shot made by Catie Kowley.
- With two free throws made by Kelly Ceroll, the Saints closed out the first quarters with a steady 5 point lead, 15-10.
- Kaylah Barr opens the second quarter with a fast break layup, giving the Saints momentum and a 17-10 lead.
- Two free throws made by Cara Vollmer give the team their largest lead of the game.
- A layup by Jaylah Thompson pushed the Saints even further to a 10-point lead.
- By the end of the second quarter, the Saints lead 36-29.
- In the third quarter, Jaylah Thompson made a fastbreak layup, followed by a free throw, to put Marymount ahead by 11 points.
- An impressive three-point shot by Ella Morrison gave the Saints a 15-point lead over Gwyneedd Mercy.
- By the end of the third quarter, the Saints boast a 20-point lead.
- The final quarter opened up with a 22-point lead as Kaylah Barr made a layup.
- With five minutes left in the game, the Saints claimed their biggest lead of the night- 24 points.
- Kelly Ceroll had a double-double with 13 rebounds and 11 points.
- The game closed out with a final score of 71-53.
