ARLINGTON, Va. -- Marymount women's basketball fell this evening after a mere three-point loss to Neumann University. This was the Saints last regular season game, ending the AEC 6-4.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Marymount started off the first quarter with two free throws made by Cara Vollmer.
- The Saints lost their lead about three minutes into the first quarter.
- Ella Morrison sunk a three-point shot to get Marymount to a one bucket deficit.
- The first quarter was closed out with a layup made by Ella Morrison.
- With the Saints trailing by three, the second quarter opened up with a low score of 9-12.
- Ava Achtyl was subbed on and immediately made two free throws.
- A stellar three-point shot by Cara Vollmer pushed the Saints to a one-point deficit.
- A layup by Kelly Ceroll gave the two teams a tie, and the Saints jumped at the opportunity.
- Another layup by Kelly Ceroll gave the Saints their first lead since the third minute.
- Marymount ends the second quarter with a one-point lead.
- The two teams bounced back and forth with one-point leads, with the Saints ultimately ahead by two at the end of the third quarter.
- A good free throw shot by Ava Achtyl pushed the Saints to a three-point lead in the beginning of the fourth quarter.
- The Saints were able to maintain their lead until the last 4 minutes of the final quarter.
- Catie Kowley had an amazing game, with the most points (9) and rebounds (8).
