ARLINGTON, Va. – Fresh off of their fourth-straight Atlantic East Championship, Marymount women's volleyball will head to Wesleyan University for the First Round of the NCAA Tournament.
In the 64-team field, the Saints will begin play on Thursday, Nov. 20 at 2:00 PM, matching up against Colby College. If MU advances, they will play the winner of Babson College and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps College on Friday at 4:30 PM. The Round of 16 match will be played on Saturday at 5:00 PM.

SCOUTING THE REGION
- It's a relatively unknown bracket for the Saints, with limited match ups against the other teams in the bracket.
- Marymount has matched up the most against NYU across the program's history, seeing them four times in the past.
- Colby is coming off of a 3-1 loss to Tufts in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Tournament.
- Four teams from the NESCAC received bids to the NCAA Tournament, with Colby and Wesleyan, who both received at-large selections, in Marymount's regional.
- Babson College (22-7, 10-1 NEWMAC) is coming off a heartbreaking, five-set loss to MIT in their conference championship. They received the at-large to make it into the regional.
- Claremont-Mudd-Scripps upset La Verne in the SCIAC Conference Championship to earn their 12th straight NCAA bid.
- NYU earned their bid via an at-large selection, after finishing the regular season with a 17-10 overall record, earning third place in the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship.
- Ithaca College won the Liberty League Conference Championship to earn their 10th-straight NCAA Tournament appearance.
- Plymouth State is coming off of their second Little East Conference (LEC) title, securing their spot in the NCAA Tournament. This is their first appearance in the Big Dance since 2004.
SCOUTING THE SAINTS
- Marymount heads to their fourth-straight NCAA Tournament appearance after completing a perfect conference record and tournament track through the AEC.
- The Saints defeated Marywood in the Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Championship in three-straight sets.
- MU put up a 17-16 overall record on the season, going perfect in the AEC at 7-0.
- Hailey LaBonte was named Atlantic East Rookie of the Year alongside AEC Tournament MVP honors and Second Team All-Conference. Across the year, she averaged 3.28 points per set with 2.75 kills per set, hitting at a .159 clip.
- Ava Humphries garnered Atlantic East Player of the Year, a rare feat as the starting libero for the Saints, and First Team All-Conference after posting 4.71 digs per set throughout the season, adding 0.47 aces per set.
- Elizabeth Stackpole earned Second Team All-Conference, putting up 55.0 blocks on the season with 2.11 kills per set at an impressive .266 hitting percentage.
- Sabrina Schoeberlein, Johanna Modica, and Jessica Rothermel add onto the strong roster for Marymount as they head into the Tournament.
ABOUT THE CHAMPIONSHIP
- The final eight teams will compete at Shirk Center Arena in Bloomington, Ill. from Dec. 3-6.
- 43 total conferences, including the Atlantic East Conference, earned automatic qualification for the championship, with 21 teams selected at-large.
