Box Score NEWARK, N.J. - The Marymount men's volleyball team was eliminated in a competitive three-set CVC semifinal, falling 25-22, 25-23, 25-21 to host Rutgers-Newark.
Raymond Tarasi had eight kills for the Saints while Hayden Kerekes tallied seven and Will Wright added six. Sava Topich had 25 assists.
MU led 4-2 in the opening set after consecutive Rutgers service errors, and was tied at 12-12 before the Scarlet Raiders ran off six of the next seven points.
Marymount then led 18-15 in the second set after a Tarasi kill and two straight attack errors. But again Rutgers-Newark surged late to grab the game.
Kerekes was named to the CVC All-Tournament Team after totaling nine kills and five service aces over two matches.
#14 Marymount concludes the season with a record of 23-8. Rutgers-Newark advances to face SVU in the CVC title game.
