Box Score ARLINGTON, Va. – The Marymount University men's lacrosse team fell to #14 Cabrini on Wednesday evening by a score of 15-3.
The Saints defense was strong early on, holding the Cavaliers to two goals in the opening 14+ of the first quarter, and keeping the deficit at 6-2 until the final seconds of the half.
Dylan Staley picked up nine ground balls and Chris Bochilo added four. Troy Tangolics totaled two ground balls, a caused turnover and scored once.
The Cavaliers pulled away in large part because of goals at the end of periods. Dillon McManus scored with 32 seconds left in the opening quarter for a 3-0 lead, and Mikey Vanaman struck with three seconds remaining in the second. McManus also tallied twice in the final minute-and-a-half of the third quarter.
Gavin Taylorson got the Saints on the board in the first quarter and Paul Vey assisted Tangolics' second quarter tally. Sebastian Radovic added a goal late in the contest.
The goalies were strong as Brandon Hall stopped 20 shots for Marymount and Cabrini's Matt Nestler recorded 12 saves with just two goals allowed in 53 minutes of action.
Marymount is 5-7, 1-1 Atlantic East, while preseason favorite Cabrini improves to 9-2, 3-0.
