Box Score ALTOONA, Pa. -- No, 13 Marymount University men's volleyball ended the season on a high note on Friday evening with a straight-set sweep of Penn State University-Altoona.
MU's attack found its groove early against the Lions as the Saints hit over .300 in each set and ended the match with a team attack percentage of .361. On the opposite side of the net, the Lions struggled for consistency en route to a .062 attack percentage. The Blue and White finished with four solo blocks and four block assists to stifle Altoona's efforts.
The Saints floored at least 14 kills in each frame, highlighted by kills in the final set of the evening. MU's defense allowed Altoona to reach double-digit kills in just one set, as the Saints rolled to 25-18, 25-17, and 25-20 wins.
Raymond Tarasi paced the Saints with 10 kills and a .375 attack percentage. The senior also tallied one solo block and one block assist. Jason Perkins finished just behind Tarasi with eight kills, while Caden Kelty and Will Wright added five kills apiece.
Sava Topich and Grayson Andrews split duties at the setter spot and finished with 20 and 23 assists, respectively. Chris Manganiello led the Saints' defense with a match-high nine digs.
The Saints head into the Continental Volleyball Conference postseason with a 22-7 overall record on the season and a 5-3 mark in conference play. They host fifth-seeded Randolph Macon College in the quarterfinals of the conference tournament on Tuesday, April 5. First serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
