Box Score ASHLAND, Va. – Marymount University men's volleyball added another win to its record with a 3-0 victory over Randolph-Macon College.
The Yellow Jackets put up a fight in the first set with a .342 attack percentage but the Saints countered with an attack percentage of .455 and the Saints earned the win with two kills after the game was tied at 29. The Blue and White capitalized on the victory with a .565 attack percentage in the second set and a .185 in the third which resulted in a .395 average attack percentage compared to Randolph-Macon's .152.
The Saints offense was on fire with two Saints with double digit kills, Ervin Harrell with 13 and Jason Perkins with 11. Raymond Tarasi, Miles Olson, and Hayden Kerekes each added an additional eight, seven, and six kills respectively. Kerekes boasted the highest attack percentage with a .750 but Perkins came up close with a .625. Sava Topich supported the Saints offense with 37 assists while Tarasi and Kerekes registered the Saints only service aces.
The Saints defense game wasn't slacking with a total of four solo blocks and a total of 15 block assists which resulted in 12 total blocks for the game, a game high season tie for the Saints. The Saints defensive game was responsible for six points in the third set alone with two solo blocks and four blocks, the result of a combined effort. Perkins led the game in solo blocks with two while Tarasi and Kerekes led in block assists with four each.
The Saints return to conference play on Saturday, March 26, where they face off against Immaculata University and Juniata College. The first match is scheduled to start at 3:00 pm and the second at 5:00 pm.
