Saints Trounce Owls, 21-7

Box Score

ARLINGTON, Va. -- The Marymount University women's lacrosse team earned its fifth consecutive win on Monday evening in a 21-7 drubbing of Keene State College.

The Saints were dominant for the full 60 minutes at Long Bridge Park, as they peppered Keene State with 36 shots. 30 of those shots found their way on target as the Blue and White broke the 20-goal mark for the third time this season.

Marymount built its advantage early with a 10-goal first quarter. The Saints opened the scoring just 1:23 into the contest as Emily Peters kicked off an 8-0 run to start the game. Peters and Riley Love wrapped up the first-period barrage to give the Saints a 10-1 lead. MU cruised from there with four goals in the second quarter, three goals in the third frame, and four goals to close out the tilt in the final quarter.

Sarah Agrillo paced the Saints' offense with seven points on four goals and three assists. Kaleigh Dunham led the Blue and White's goal scorers with a career-high six. Love finished with six points (2g-4a) while Emily Peters (3g-2a) added five points. Taylor Chepren potted three goals, which marked a season-best for the rookie.

Elaina Hagen rounded out the Saints' goalscorers with the first goal of her career. Ella Baker, Megan Edens, and Erin Cannon were all credited with assists. On defense, Caitlyn Dunn caused a pair of turnovers and picked up a team-high-tying three ground balls. Mariel Russ earned the win in goal with nine saves in 57:21 of action.

Marymount remains at home for its next contest on Saturday, March 19, when Bridgewater College visits Long Bridge Park. The tilt is set for a 1:00 p.m. start.
