DALLAS, Pa. – The No. 13-ranked Marymount University men's volleyball team raised their win streak to 10-0 after coming out on top in a tri-match against the Elmira College Soaring Eagles and the Misericordia University Cougars, winning both matches in three sets.

Match One: Marymount vs. Elmira

The Saints continued their string of three-set sweeps against the Soaring Eagles, as they took the match by scores of 25-20, 25-19, and 25-22. Marymount's offense pieced together an efficient match with a .382 team attack percentage. On the opposite side of the net, Elmira mustered just a .197 team clip. MU's unmatched offensive display was highlighted in the first and second sets, as the Saints swung at .440 and .458, respectively. 

With a two-sets-to-none lead, Marymount fended off a late push from Elmira in the final set. The score was tied 12 times during the stanza, but MU took the lead for good at 18-17 after a kill from Ervin Harrell. A service ace from Raymond Tarasi gave MU its match-point opportunity while a miscue by the Soaring Eagles brought the match to a close. 

Jason Perkins led the charge for MU with 11 kills and a tidy .500 attack percentage. Tarasi added nine kills, five digs, and two aces. Miles Olson chipped in with his most efficient performance for the campaign with seven kills and a .600 attack percentage. Sava Topich orchestrated MU's offense with 30 assists. 

Match Two: Marymount vs. Misericordia

While the Cougars pushed the Saints, MU did not let Misericordia end their streak of three-set wins as they took the first set with a five-point lead, the second set with two points on the Cougars, and the third set with an eight-point lead. The Saints opened the match with an efficient attack percentage in the first set with a mark of .476, compared to a mark of just .069 by the Cougars. 

Misericordia put up a fight in the second set, but a late push by the Saints fended off the Cougars. With the score tied at 24-24, Misericordia floored a kill to take a 25-24 edge. Despite the set-point chance for the home side, Marymount rattled off three consecutive points to win the set. Caden Kelty and Michael Collins provided two kills, while Will Wright registered a service ace to polish off the frame. 

The Saints took the third set to reassert their control of the match, driving the Cougars back to a sub-one attack percentage. Zach Jayes provided three blocks during the set, which helped keep Misericordia at bay. Freshman Jeremy Wimmer wrapped the match-up for MU with a service ace in his collegiate debut with a service ace.

Freshman Will Wright was a standout for the Saints with 11 kills and a solid .529 attack percentage, which led the match. Meanwhile, Kelty led the match with four service aces. Jayes finished with a career-high four blocks. Grayson Andrews was integral for the Saints' attack with 18 assists. 

The Saints return to the court on Tuesday, February 8th, to open conference play against Southern Virginia at 7pm in the Converse Family Fieldhouse.
