Box Score ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. -- The Marymount University men's volleyball team extended its win streak to six consecutive matches on Friday evening with a 3-0 win on the road over Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC) foe Elizabethtown College.
The Saints, who checked into a tie for 10th in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) poll, cruised past the Blue Jays with another stellar offensive performance. Marymount took the match, 25-20, 25-18, 25-18.
MU swung at a stellar .494 clip throughout the tilt, compared to a .278 mark from the home side. The Blue and White led in nearly all facets of the match, highlighted by a 48-31 edge in kills and a 33-17 advantage in digs.
MU's free-flowing offense was headlined by senior Ervin Harrell. The Cheektowaga, New York, native floored a match-high 17 kills with a near-perfect .850 attack percentage. Harrell finished with a double-double with 11 digs.
Raymond Tarasi and rookie Will Wright each chipped in 12 kills. Tarasi swung at .579 clip, while Wright posted a .444 attack percentage. Wright's 12 kills marked a new season-high for the first-year talent. For Tarasi, the performance marked his eighth of the campaign with double-digit kills. Junior Sava Topich pulled the strings of the Saints' offense with a career-high 44 assists.
Marymount returns to action on Tuesday, March 8, when it heads to the west coast for a matchup at Cal Lutheran University. The tilt is scheduled for a 10:00 p.m. EST start.
