The run cut the score to 15-13, but two is the closest the Saints would get, as Kean pulled away for a 25-19 win.
Topich and Perkins began the second set with a block, as the Saints kept the opening points close. They took a 7-6 lead on a kill from sophomore Hayden Kerekes.
With the teams tied 9-9, Kean began to take control with four straight points, which was all it needed to stay ahead the rest of the way.
The Cougars opened the third set with a 6-2 advantage, which they would not relinquish. The Saints continued to keep the set close at the start, with two kills from Tarasi and one from Perkins, but Kean was able to put the match away down the stretch.
Not including a COVID-19-shortened 2020 season, the Saints finish the year with their sixth-straight appearance in the CVC tournament. They cap the 2021 season with a 7-7 record, including a 4-4 clip in CVC play.
