Box Score ARLINGTON, Va. -- The Marymount University women's soccer team battled to the final whistle on Saturday afternoon, but the Saints were unable to find the back of the net in a 1-0 defeat against Wesley.
Prior to the contest, Marymount recognized its two members of the Class of 2021, Sita Nair and Emma Buck.
MU ended the game with an 11-8 advantage in shots and held the Wolverines to just one shot in the second half. Wesley's early push made the difference, however, as a goal off of a ricocheted save in the sixth minute proved to be the winner. In goal, Mary Mac Bradshaw registered four saves in goal.
The game took place mostly in the middle of the park, as each side battled for possession throughout. The Saints created more chances in the second half with seven shots. Nair fired a shot on goal just three minutes into the stanza, but Welsey managed to turn the attempt away. Eva Roros tested Wesley's goal once again in the 84 minute, but the Wolverines' Marissa Waters stood tall to keep the Saints off of the board.
