Box Score DOVER, Del. -- The Marymount University women's soccer team emerged victorious in a hard-fought battle on the road on Wednesday evening, as the Saints picked up a 1-0 win over Wesley College.
It took the full 90 minutes and part of the first overtime period, but Marymount found a way past the Wolverines through senior Sita Nair. The Falls Church, Virginia native put the contest to bed in the early moments of the extra frame. Nair collected a ricocheted ball and took one touch before she fired a left-footed effort into the upper left corner for the victory.
Outside of the late-game heroics, MU's attack hounded Wesley throughout the contest. Marymount finished with a 10-6 edge in shots. Six of those shots were on target, as Wesley was forced into five saves.
The Saint's wrap-up the season on Saturday, March 20, when they play host to Wesley at 1 p.m. Before the contest, Marymount will honor its Class of 2021.
