Box Score ARLINGTON, Va. -- The Marymount University women's volleyball team punched its ticket to its third-consecutive Atlantic East Conference championship game on Thursday evening with a three-set sweep of Neumann University.
MU dispatched the Knights inside Converse Family Fieldhouse with a consistent offensive attack and approach at the service line. The Saints owned a 37-30 advantage in kills and tossed up nine service aces to pummel the visitors.
While Neumann stuck close to the Saints in the first set, Marymount's offense picked up steam in each consecutive frame. MU floored 13 kills in the second frame and wrapped up the match in the third set with 16 kills and a .316 attack percentage.
Marymount's offensive barrage was highlighted by Kaitlyn Doyle. The junior floored a match-best 11 kills with a stellar .375 attack percentage. Elissa Munsterman supplied eight kills, while Myia Jeter totaled six kills with a .417 attack percentage.
On the defensive side of the ball, Caylee Shelton and Sarah Pham each finished with double digit digs. Shelton tallied a match-high 14, while Pham added 12. Sydney Sands orchestrated the Blue and White's offense with 31 assists. The sophomore also led the charge from the service line with four aces.
MU will head to Cabrini University on Saturday, November 6, to battle the Cavaliers for the Atlantic East Championship. First serve is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
