ARLINGTON, Va. – The WildCats of Randolph College made the trek to Arlington to face off against the Marymount University women's soccer team. With home field advantage, the Saints held very strong throughout all 90 minutes of play, but fell short in a 1-0 decision in favor of the WildCats.

The first half of play was very balanced as both teams had their share of goal opportunities. In the 13th minute, junior Karen Reyes for the Saints found space to launch the Saints' first shot of the half, only to be denied by the crossbar. After the first 45 minutes of play, the Wildcats out shot Marymount, 6-5.

Out of the halftime break, the WildCats played with a different level of energy that the Saints had not seen in the first. Hannah Overstreet of Randolph notched herself a game-winning goal in the 58th minute to put the WildCats up 1-0. Four minutes later, junior Gretel Bonilla had a chance to tie the game at one apiece, but just like Reyes, the crossbar denied the shot.

Senior Sydney Sherman made her second start of the season, tacking on two more saves to her senior slate 

Catch the Saints Wednesday, September 12 as they hit the road to bring the battle to the Rowan University Profs. Kick off is set for 7 p.m.
