Box Score FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - Marymount women's lacrosse junior Bridgette Stacom had one goal, six draw controls and three caused turnovers, but No. 9 Mary Washington used an 11-goal run to break open a tie game and take an 11-goal lead en route to an 18-6 victory Saturday at the Battleground Athletic Complex.
The Saints (9-7, 3-4 CAC) are now just 2-5 on the road this season compared to 7-2 at home.
Stacom scored the game's first goal just 1:06 into the contest before the Eagles (13-3, 6-2 CAC) answered just 25 seconds later.
The two teams would go back-and-forth before senior Abby Wescott tied the game for third time with 17:56 remaining, 3-3.
However, Mary Washington closed the half with nine goals over the final 15:53 to take nine-goal lead at the half, 12-3. The Eagles held a 20-10 margin in shots and an 11-5 advantage in draw controls in the opening half.
Mary Washington extended its lead to 11 after scoring the first two goals of the second half before senior Kellen Cannon broke the Saints' scoreless drought with a free position goal with 21:17 left.
Junior Jessica Crew and sophomore Eliana Cassel each scored to pull Marymount within nine with 10:04 to play before the Eagles closed the game with three consecutive tallies to provide the final margin.
Crew finished with two goals while Wescott had three points on a goal and two assists.
Defensively, junior Holly Reik made 11 saves while senior Liah Agouras had four ground balls and two caused turnovers.
The Saints wrap-up their regular season on Wednesday when they travel to York (Pa.) for a 6 p.m., CAC contest at Kinsley Field.
