Dunn, Durso, Coaching Staff Garner Major Awards; Eight Earn All-Conference for Women's Lacrosse

LANCASTER, Pa. -- Atlantic East Champions Marymount women's lacrosse cleaned house in the AEC Postseason Awards, announced by the conference office Wednesday afternoon.

Abby Dunn earned Defensive Player of the Year, with Olivia Durso garnering the Elite 20 Award, given to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA on the Championship site.

Head Coach Kate Athing and staff earned Co-Coaching Staff of the Year.

Abby Dunn - Defensive Player of the Year - First Team All-Conference

Dunn had a historic year for the Saints, earning the first Defensive Player of the Year for her career and second posting on an All-Conference Team, first on the First Team.

Causing 52 turnovers throughout the course of the season and picking up 60 ground balls, the senior defender added 77 total draw controls. 

In conference play, Dunn picked up 15 ground balls while causing nine turnovers, adding 19 draw controls.

Tess Valentino - First Team All-Conference

Valentino notches her second-straight year on the AEC All-Conference First Team after another powerful year on the offensive end of the field. 

Netting a team-high 67 goals throughout the season, the junior had 19 total points in conference play on 16 goals and three assists.

She added 22 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers overall on the season.

Bailey Gehler - First Team All-Conference

Gehler nabbed her second All-Conference honor, first on the First Team, after a top year for the Saints.

Posting 59 points on 46 goals and 13 assists throughout the season, she dominated in conference play with 17 goals and two assists for 19 total points, including a game-winner against Neumann in the regular season.

The midfielder added 48 ground balls and 19 caused turnovers, securing 59 draw controls along the way. 

Peyton Samson - First Team All-Conference

Samson earns the first All-Conference award for her career after playing stout defense throughout the season.

Causing 14 turnovers and picking up 27 ground balls, Samson had six caused turnovers and picked up six ground balls in conference play. 

Hannah Smith - First Team All-Conference

Smith finds herself on the All-Conference First Team after dominating in the cage for Marymount throughout the season.

Starting all 19 games for the Saints and securing a 17-2 record, Smith collected 144 total saves with a .560 save percentage. 

Across the year, she averaged just 6.35 goals against. 

Taylor Chepren - Second Team All-Conference

Chepren earned a spot on the Second Team for the second-straight season.

The former AEC Rookie of the Year collected 66 total points throughout the season with 21 goals for 88 points.

In conference play, Chepren had 14 assists and six goals.

Riley Love - Second Team All-Conference 

A mainstay on the AEC All-Conference Teams, Love notched Second Team in her final season for the Saints.

Dishing out a team-high 67 assists throughout the season with 21 goals, Love secured multiple records throughout the year for Marymount.

In AEC compeition, the senior had 21 assists and five goals for 26 total points.

Ella Baker - Second Team All-Conference 

Baker picked up her first All-Conference selection after a career year.

Posting 64 points on 45 goals and 19 assists, she was third on the team with 15 goals in conference action. 

The midfielder added eight caused turnovers and 25 ground balls across the year.
