FROSTBURG, Md. – The Marymount women's swim team almost came back for the victory, but fell in its final meet of the regular season on Saturday afternoon at Frostburg State University, 104-101.
Several Saints shined in the pool led by junior Taylor Plumley in her distance freestyle swims, taking first place in the 400-meter free (4:58.73) and the 800-meter free (10:14.23).
She wasn't alone in top finishes for the day, as senior Morgan Alston grabbed first in the 100 fly (1:10.76) and junior Claire Cassidy did the same in the 100 back (1:12.89). Alston also took second in the 100 IM (1:12.61) and third in the 100 breast (1:24.40), while Cassidy took third in the 100 IM (1:16.10).
Sophomore Hayley Elizondo took second in all three of her individual events for the day, coming up just short in the 200 free (2:16.99), 100 free (1:04.01) and 100 breast (1:18.21).
Sophomore Jessie Bricker also collected a pair of top-three finishes in the 50 free (30.87) and 100 free (1:07.26).
The Saints will now take the next three weeks to recover and prepare for the CAC Championships at St. Mary's College of Maryland. Day one of the four-day event starts up on Thursday night, February 22.
