ASHLAND, Va. - Marymount swimming got back in the competitive pool for the first time in 2023, traveling to Randolph-Macon for a matchup against the Yellow Jackets. 

Team Scores

• Randolph-Macon took the women's side by a final score of 191-71.
• The Saints came up slightly short on the men's side, with the Yellow Jackets winning by a final score of 146.5-115.5.

Relay Top Finishes

• The men's 400 yard medley relay team of Ethan White, Ryan Faherty, Justin Singletary, and Laine Eary took the top spot on the day with a final time of 3:47.18.
• In the men's 400 yard freestyle relay, the Saints team of White, Alex Hain, Trevor Cairns, and Faherty took first with a finishing time of 3:23.10. 

Individual Top Finishes

• Hain finished first in the 1000 yard freestyle event, notching a time of 10:49.20.
• Cairns took the top finish in the 200 yard individual medley with a final time of 2:05.50. He also notched first in the 100 yard individual medley with a time of 58.03.
• Delaney Carey finished first in the women's 100 yard butterfly with a finishing time of 1:03.69.
• Brooke Dittlinger grabbed another win for the Saints in the 50 yard freestyle event, finishing with a time of 26.30.
• Singletary notched a first-place finish in the 100 yard freestyle at 51.22.
• Carsten Hicks finished first in the men's 50 yard butterfly at 24.60.

• The Saints are back on the road next Friday, Jan. 13th at Catholic University for a Pope's Cup swim meet starting at 4:00 PM.
• MU comes back to their home pool on Saturday, Jan. 14th against Gallaudet with a start time scheduled for 1:00 PM.
