ARLINGTON, Va. - Marymount swimming got back into the pool Friday afternoon after their holiday break hiatus, taking on the Yellow Jackets of Randolph-Macon College in dual meet fashion.

The Saints grabbed the win on the men side, with the women putting up strong performances across the day.  

TEAM SCORES

• Marymount took the men's side by a final tally of 143-62.
• The Yellow Jackets came out on top on the women's side with a final scoring of 138-66.

RELAY TOP FINISHES

• The women's 200 yard medley relay team of Alexandra Pette, Tidawee Srun, Arianna Koerner, and Lillian Crawley took second with a final timing of 1:56.79.
• On the men's side of the 200 yard medley relay races, Marymount took the top two placings:
  • The team of Alexander Hain, Evan Pak, Carsten Hicks, and Luke Claudy placed first at 1:39.26.
  • Ethan White, Ryan Faherty, Gavin Keane, and Laine Eary took second at 1:41.61.
• The men's 200 yard freestyle relay team of Justin Singletary, Trevor Cairns, Hicks, and Gavin Keane took second with a combined time of 1:30.76.
• The women's 200 yard freestyle team, with Ilana Hawkins, Payton So, Cara Craig, and Sydney Runk took silver with a time of 1:48.63.

INDIVIDUAL TOP FINISHES

• Garrett Watson (10:36.75) and Daniel Caldwell (10:44.24) finished atop the leaderboard in the men's 1000 yard freestyle event. The two would finish in the same placings in the 500 yard freestyle event as well with Watson notching a time of 5:10.89 and Caldwell finishing at 5:19.16.
• Crawley placed first in the women's 200 yard freestyle event with a timing of 2:03.70. She also notched a second place finish in the women's 100 yard freestyle at 58.95.
• In a tight race, Trevor Cairns came out on top in the men's 200 yard freestyle event with a final time of 1:49.94. He would go on to win the 100 yard backstroke event as well with a time of 55.36.
• Ilana Hawkins came out in second in the women's 50 yard freestyle event at 26.39.
• Luke Claudy won the men's 50 yard freestyle with a time of 21.55. He went on to win the 100 yard freestyle event at 48.20.
• Ryan Faherty took first in the men's 200 yard individual medley event with a finishing time of 2:02.81. He placed second in the men's 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:02.13.
• Carsten Hicks (54.75) and Gavin Keane (54.76) finished one-two in the men's 100 yard butterfly event. 
• Pette finished second in the women's 100 yard backstroke with a timing of 1:03.84.
• Srun won the women's 100 yard breaststroke event with a final time of 1:10.66.
• Pak placed first in the 100 yard breaststroke with a final timing of 1:01.88.

• Marymount will come back to the Lee Center Pool next Friday, Jan. 12, to take on Catholic in a dual meet.
• The meet will begin at 4 PM.
