DOVER, Del. – The Marymount University men's soccer team closed out its Atlantic East Conference regular-season slate on Wednesday night, falling to Wesley College, 3-2, in overtime on the road.

The Saints took the initial lead in the game. Senior Mynor Danilo Lopez had a chance on goal in the first two minutes of the game, but his shot was saved. However, he would find the back of the net on his second shot, allowing Marymount to take the 1-0 lead in the 23nd minute.

Junior Rodney Ngoh cleared the ball over the Wesley defense, allowing Lopez to run under the pass and chip it into the net.

The Wolverines answered in the 35th minute, knotting the score on a Deekai Gbonimy score.

Sophomore Jonathan Josue Cruz made the start in goal for the Saints and came up with two saves late in the first half to keep the teams tied at the half.

Wesley came out quickly in the second half, scoring in the first four minutes to take their first lead of the game.

Cruz made another two saves in the goal to keep the deficit at one, before the Saints were able to add their second tally.

Senior Chris Cardenas put away a penalty kick in the 66th minute to bring the score to 2-2.

Both teams had late opportunities for the winning score, but neither was able to capitalize, forcing overtime.

Sophomore Levis Lopez put a shot on goal late in the extra period, but it was saved.

The Wolverines struck less than a minute later on a penalty kick for the win.

The Saints now look on to their final regular-season contest on Friday, October 26, as they will travel to Gallaudet University; the game is set for 7 p.m.
