DOVER, Del. – Although both teams played a man-down for over half of the match, the Marymount men's soccer team battled back in the final four minutes Wednesday night in the Capital Athletic Conference road tilt at Wesley College, scoring two goals to take the 2-1 victory. 

Snapping a five-game skid, the Saints earned their first CAC win of the season while moving to 3-9 for the year. 

The game went in the favor of the Wolverines midway through the first half when the first goal was put away in the 20th minute to give Wesley a 1-0 lead at the half. 

Before the break, a double red-card situation put both teams down a man for the remainder of the match, as the Saints looked to battle back in the final 45 minutes. 

It would take much of the second half, but junior Sebastian Hendi, the Saints' leading goal scorer, tacked on the tying finish and game winner in the final four minutes of the game to lead the Saints back into the win column. 

Freshman Levis Lopez setup the first goal, sending a ball into the middle of the 18-yard box where Hendi connected on a wide-open opportunity. 

Just two minutes later, Hendi did it again. This time, he recovered a deflection off his previous shot that was saved by the Wolverine keeper and blasted the second attempt into the back of the net for the game winner. 

For the year, Hendi leads the Saints with 13 points off six goals and an assist. His six goals ranks fourth in the CAC. 

Sophomore John Valcicak earned his third win of the season in net, making five saves through 90 minutes of play. He has now racked up 59 saves for the year, placing him second in the league. 

The Saints return home for another CAC matchup on Saturday, October 7, hosting St. Mary's College of Maryland at Long Bridge Park. First touch is set for 1 p.m.
