Following the break, the Saints were able to piece together a 3-0 run to cut the deficit to one. MU took advantage of an error by the Ducks and added kills from sophomore Graham Clark and junior Tomasz Ksiazkiewicz. The Saints continued to trail through most of the set before rallying at the end. A 4-0 run by Marymount tied the game at 22-22 and forced the Ducks to burn a timeout. Marymount used a timeout after trailing 9-5 and forced Stevens' server to commit an error. MU was able to come within three on several occasions but could never gain the lead. Head Coach Hudson Bates used one more timeout near the end of the set, but the Ducks offense proved to be too much, finishing on top 25-19 to take a 2-0 lead in the match.

Set three proved to a tough battle from the start until the Saints pulled together a 5-0 run to take the lead. MU capitalized on three errors committed by the Ducks and added kills from Clark and freshman James Knight to take the 9-7 lead. The Saints pieced together another 3-0 run to build a four-point lead over the Ducks later in the set, as Ksiazkiewicz went to work for the Saints and finished the set with a kill followed by an ace, 25-17.

Stevens was able to take an early 2-0 lead before the Saints answered with a 2-0 run of their own to tie the fourth set. The momentum continued to sway back-and-forth as the teams continued trading points early in the game. Marymount took its first timeout after leading 6-5. The Ducks answered however, hitting a four-point run to force Marymount to use its second timeout. Later in the set, Marymount pulled within one and forced Stevens to use one of its own timeouts, but the Ducks were able to keep their composure down the stretch to take the victory, 25-20.

Sophomore TJ Wiechecki led the Saints offense with 13 kills, followed by Ksiazkiewicz with eight. Sophomores Erich Bratke and Jordan Pawlicki racked up 26 and 16 assists, respectively, sophomore Albert Johansson led the Saints on the defensive end after scooping up 11 digs.
