Arlington, Va. – The Marymount men's lacrosse team suffered a 15-6 decision at the hands of visiting St. Mary's (Md.) on Saturday afternoon.  The Saints fall to 4-9 on the season and 1-5 in league play with the loss at Long Bridge Park.

The Seahawks struck first at the 13:18 mark – igniting quite the first-quarter to-and-fro.  The visitors extended that margin to 2-0 within the next 60 seconds - awakening the Saints sense of urgency.

Nate Beard showed off his vision with back-to-back feeds to Matt Justice and Kellan McCarthy, respectively, to even the score at 2-2 by the 9:50 mark.  St. Mary's notched its third with 7:43 showing, but Brent Sulhoff repaired the deficit with a blast on the ensuing faceoff.

St. Mary's rounded out the frame with another pair – upping the ante to 5-3 heading into the second stanza.

The next 15 minutes proved eerily quiet, with both goalies coming up clutch on multiple occasions.  The Saints eventually wore down the Seahawks backline, crawling within one with a bullet from Beard at the 1:05 mark.  The 5-4 SMC edge would carry into the intermission.

The Seahawks erupted for ten goals in the second half – four in the third quarter and six in the fourth – to bury Marymount with its unforeseen fury.  The Saints mustered lone tallies in each frame, but the offense proved little compared to the sudden resurgence from St. Mary's.

Marymount accrued a 56% faceoff success rate with its 14-for-24 performance at the center X.  The Saints also held the notable edge in groundballs, 38-25.

The squad returns to Long Bridge Park on Wednesday as it hosts Wesley in a twilight tilt.  Faceoff is slated for 7:00 p.m.
