Box Score 3 Arlington, Va. – The Marymount men's volleyball team swept its last three matches, including a CVC bout against Cairn on Friday night. The Saints downed York (N.Y.) twice on Saturday without surrendering a set to the visiting Cardinals. Marymount improves to 5-9 on the season and 1-3 league play with the three-game streak.
Marymount (Va.) 3, Cairn 0 (26-24, 25-23, 25-16)
Friday night saw the Saints swipe their first CVC win, downing Cairn in straight sets to gain some much needed momentum.
Connor Choate and TJ Wiechecki put on quite the performance against the Highlanders, posting match-high hitting percentages of .375 and .312, respectively. Wiechecki smacked 16 kills to lead all players, while Choate followed with seven.
Erich Bratke chipped in 35 assists on the night, while Jordan Pawlicki proved the defensive anchor with his match-high 14 digs. Graham Clarke and Ben Steranka – at 6' 7" and 6' 8", respectively – minded the net for Marymount, combining for nine rejections over the course of the contest.
The first two sets proved painstakingly close, with the Saints needing extra points to sew up the wins.
Wiechecki seemed to be Marymount's closer throughout the match, ending all three sets in some way, shape, or form. The freshman belted back-to-back kills to close the first set before adding another to bring home the second. The third and final set saw Wiechecki register his one and only ace at match point.
Marymount (Va.) 3, York (N.Y.) 0 (25-14, 25-10, 25-19)
Marymount never wavered in its two-match rendezvous against York (N.Y.). The Saints are now 2-0 at home this season after sweeping the visiting Cardinals.
The first match saw veteran Tomasz Ksiazkiewicz register 11 kills, while Wiechecki added nine. Bratke collected 34 assists in the home opener as Clark guarded the net with three blocks.
Marymount vastly outhit York, posting an impressive .426 team hitting percentage to the Cardinals' dismal .092.
Three different Saints recorded multiple aces in the effort, with Choate, Steranka, and Ksiazkiewicz collecting two apiece.

Similarly to the first match, the nightcap saw the Saints keep the Cardinals firmly in check, largely in thanks to another stellar offensive performance. The Saints posted a .333 team hitting percentage to seal the deal and sweep the doubleheader.
Ksiazkiewicz proved unstoppable in all aspects of the game – collecting six kills, four aces, and six blocks in the final contest. Albert Johannson completely baffled the Cardinals in his time behind the line, notching seven service aces in the win.
The Saints closed the opening set with a 7-2 run and never looked back, putting away the Cardinals swiftly over the next two sets.
Marymount returns to action on Friday when it hosts CVC foe Thiel. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
