Box Score Arlington, Va. – Marymount University's women's soccer squad dropped a 2-0 decision to Greensboro on Saturday afternoon, surrendering both Pride goals in the last ten minutes of the contest. The Saints fall to 0-1-1 on the season with the loss.
The Saints outshot the Pride with 14 total strikes, but could not match Greensboro in terms of efficiency. Sophomores Chloe McAuliffe and Kirsten Campbell each fired off three shots in the effort, while senior Amy Lawton and freshman Samantha McAlonan each added a pair.
It was Allison Gibson who broke the stalemate in the 82nd minute, using a cross from Samara Alba to find the back of the net. Alba also triggered the exclamation point just moments later when she found Melanie Ratan unmanned just outside the box.
Erin Harris (0-1-1) took the decision for the Saints, collecting five saves in the match.
Marymount returns to action on Wednesday as it travels to Randolph-Macon for a nonconference match. Kickoff is slated for 4:15 p.m.
