Box Score Frostburg, Md. – Marymount University's men's lacrosse team fell 11-7 to eventual champions Albright in the semifinals of the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III Mid-Atlantic Region Tournament on Saturday. The Saints close out the year 9-8 overall on the year for their first winning season since 2001.
Jimmy Wendell and Garrett Nealon both led the Saints with a pair of goals while Connor Kellogg, Kellen McCarthy and Nico Burns each added another. Kellogg, Nealon, Michael Mene, Lance Bernecker and Matt Justice each tallied assists as well.
Marymount controlled the first half of the game, outscoring the Lions (12-6) 3-1 in each of the opening two frames to take a 6-2 lead into halftime.
In the second half, Albright began to mount a comeback and turned the tables on the Saints with a 3-1 showing of its own in the third period to cut the deficit to 7-5. The Lions blanked MU in the fourth, scoring six unanswered goals en route to the win.
In goal, Derek DiGiovanni collected 12 saves for his ninth double-figure total of the year.
Cam Cetrone led Albright with three goals.
