Box Score 2 Cincinnati, Ohio – Marymount University's men's volleyball team dropped a pair of matches to open the Continental Volleyball Conference Crossover on Saturday afternoon. The Saints fell 3-0 (25-16, 25-22, 25-16) in the opener to host Mount St. Joseph before falling 3-0 (25-21, 25-17, 25-21) in the nightcap to Dominican (Ill.).
The Saints fall to 0-5 on the season.
In the opener Matt Malloy, Bryce Ernsberger and Thomasz Ksiazkiewicz led the Saints with seven kills each while Chris Lionette and Bronson Summers-Torres both added three.
Ernsberger recorded a match-high six digs, Ksiazkiewicz paced Marymount with three blocks and Malloy notched a pair of service aces to lead all players.
Summer-Torres paced the MU offense with 21 assists.
Alex Vohland led the Cougars (5-3) with 12 kills.
Against Dominican (4-4), Ernsberger posted a match-best 16 kills for a career-high while Ksiazkiewicz added eight. Ksiazkiewicz logged a match-high 11 digs while he, Malloy and Summer-Torres each notched three blocks.
Summers-Torres added another 30 assists in the loss.
Jeremy Royko led the Stars with 13 kills.
Marymount returns to action on Sunday as it closes out the CVC Crossover against Fontbonne.
