Harrisburg, Pa. – Marymount University's men's soccer team won an electrifying match over Penn State Harrisburg Wednesday night, downing the Lions 3-2 in double overtime. The Saints pick up their first conference win with the victory, improving to 1-7 in CAC action and 5-14 overall.

Ahmed Elmanialawy proved an unstoppable force for the Saints on offense, scoring a pair on the day. The freshman gave Marymount the initial advantage, sending a lofty shot just over the keeper's head in the 16th minute.

The Lions netted the equalizer only ten minutes later and the opening frame proved a deadlock at one goal a-piece.

The stalemate continued through most of the second half until Penn State struck in the 72nd minute.

The persistent Saints continued their assault on the Lions defense, eventually forcing a Penn State own-goal in the 77th minute to even the match.

The 2-2 standoff remained unbroken through regulation and through the ensuing overtime period.

The second overtime frame looked as if it would emulate the first, but in true dramatic fashion, Nick Gruber found Elmanialawy for the game-winner in the 109th minute – what would have been the final minute of the match.

Marymount goalkeeper Logan Cropper went the distance, collecting three saves in the lengthy battle.
