Arlington, Va. – Marymount University's women's soccer team wrapped up the 2010 season with a 1-0 shutout over visiting Southern Virginia on Thursday night. The Saints finish the year 5-11 overall.

Paige Pierson notched the lone goal for the Saints, scoring on a penalty kick in the 21st minute. The goal was her 17th of the season, second most in the Capital Athletic Conference.

Goalkeeper Gaby Prellezo picked up the shutout, collecting four saves on the night including a point-blank shot near the end of regulation to hold off a late Knights attack.

The game marked the final collegiate contest for seniors Jaimie Nguyen and Beth Wiggins. Wiggins recorded three shots in the win while Nguyen anchored the MU defensive backfield in the shutout.
