TYSONS, Va. - Marymount baseball took the win in the series over the Pacers of Marywood on senior day to clinch the #1 seed in the upcoming Atlantic East Conference Tournament on Saturday afternoon.
The Saints conclude the regular season with a 30-9 overall record, 14-4 in AEC play.
GAME ONE
HOW IT HAPPENED
- It was a pitchers duel in the opening game of the doubleheader following senior day festivites, with the Pacers getting on the board first in the fourth to take a one-run lead.
- Ryan Cuadros came through for the Saints with an inside the park home run in the bottom of the fifth to score himself and Jordan Dickson to take a 2-1 lead.
- Kyle Lewis shut the door to earn his sixth save of the season, striking out four Pacers in 2.0 innings of work.
- Braeden Lencz earned the win on the mound to finish the regular season perfect with a 6-0 record. He had seven total strikeouts in the win.
GAME TWOÂ
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Marymount got on the board first in game two of the day with RBI hits from Jimmy Baker and Tristan Lovins.
- The Pacers scored in the third, fourth, and fifth innings to take a 6-2 lead.
- Cuadros knocked a two-run single in the bottom of the sixth to cut into the Pacers' lead.
- Marywood held onto their momentum down the stretch to take the final game of the series over the Saints.
- Baker went 2-for-3 with an RBI.
- Lovins knocked in a run with his single.
- Trevor George knocked a hit in his pinch-hit opportunity.
- Alec Reilly and Bobby Leitzel each added a hit.
- Evan Cash had a scoreless inning of relief for the Saints.
