SCRANTON, Pa. – Marymount women's basketball overcame an early deficit on Saturday at Marywood and never looked back in a convincing 67-50 victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Marywood jumped out an early 10-5 lead before the Saints responded with a 16-2 run to close the first quarter with a 21-12 advantage.
- The Saints' lead stretched to as many as 16 in the second quarter as Marymount held a 31-15 lead at halftime.
- The shots continued to fall in the third quarter as Marymount went into the final frame with a 49-30 lead.
- Marymount locked in as a team in the final quarter to clinch the 67-50 victory.
- Seven players scored at least five points in a total team effort. Chandler Eddleton led Marymount with 12 points and nine rebounds.
- Terra Dzambo also had 12 points and made two 3-pointers.
- Marymount forced 21 turnovers and scored 22 points off those turnovers.
- The Saints also held strong advantages in fast break points (19-4) and 2nd chance points (13-2).
UP NEXT
- Marymount (12-4, 2-0) will put its three-game winning streak on the line in a road tilt against Christopher Newport on Wednesday at 6 PM.
- The Saints will be away for the next two games before returning home on Wednesday, Jan. 17 at 6 PM against Gwynedd Mercy.
