Box Score 2 SCRANTON, Pa – Marymount University softball faced off against Marywood University but came up short in Saturday's doubleheader with two close games where the Saints ended one run short in each.
With the loss, the Saints finish regular season conference play 5-7 and seeded #5 for the Atlantic East Conference Tournament.

How It Happened
- The Saints started the first game strong with a run in the first inning after Emig earned a place on first base with a single and Johnson followed with a double to get Emig home.
- The Pacers responded quickly with two runs in the bottom of the first. The Saints kept the pacers from another run with good fielding but were unable to work their own run before the end of the game.
- On the mound, Morgan Hunt fell to 8-9 for the year after she pitched six innings for the Saints.
- In game two, the Saints points were limited to the top of the second inning where the Saints registered six hits and three runs.
- A triple by Corcoran brought Shanyn Burch and Johnson home.
- Amanda Coates stepped up to bat with Corcoran on third and brought her home with a single to right center.
- The Pacers replicated the Saints score in the bottom of the second after a fielding error allowed bases loaded and a double at bat brought three runners home.
- The Saints recovered and ended the inning but the Pacers were able to add another run in the bottom of the fifth.
- Despite three hits the Saints were unable to make it home in the final two innings and came up one run short.
- On the mound, Shanyn Burch pitched six innings and added a loss for the season but managed one strikeout for the Saints.
