SOFT: Atkins, Demusz, Coaching Staff Garner Major Awards; Eight Earn All-Conference

ARLINGTON, Va. -- Marymount softball cleaned house in the Atlantic East Conference postseason awards, announced by the conference office Thursday afternoon.

Kaylee Atkins and Bailey Demusz earned Player and Pitcher of the Year, with Head Coach Leigh Murray-Winstead and staff garnering Coaching Staff of the Year, while eight total Saints earned spots on the All-Conference Teams.

Haley Greer, Haylee Carpenter, Gracie Himmelman, Atkins, and Demusz picked up First Team honors, while Grace Gilbert, Valeria Gutierrez De Oliveira, and Samantha Richtol notched Second Team, respectively.

Kaylee Atkins - Player of the Year - First Team All-Conference First Base

Atkins capped off her career with a bang, grabbing her third overall All-Conference nod, second-straight on First Team.

To this point, Atkins has hit at a .462 average with an OPS of 1.142, knocking three home runs and 16 doubles. She has driven in 38 total RBI.

In conference action, the senior led the team with a .569 average and 1.463 OPS with two home runs and nine doubles, all while driving in 18 RBI.

Bailey Demusz - Pitcher of the Year - First Team All-Conference Pitcher

Demusz finishes her career with the conference's top honor for a pitcher and her first First Team All-Conference selection. She was named Second Team All-Conference in 2025.

Against conference opponents, Demusz shined and remained the top arm in the league. She put up a perfect 8-0 record with a 1.90 ERA and WHIP of 1.02. Through the conference season, she struck out 54 opposing batters in 52.0 innings pitched, never allowing a home run. 

She went 12-7 overall on the year, racking up an even 100 strikeouts through the conference tournament. 

Haley Greer - First Team All-Conference Catcher

Greer notches her second-straight selection on the First Team after remaining a top stick in the heart of the order for the Saints.

Across the year, she batted .402 with a .971 OPS, driving in 20 RBI. She slugged .529 with 11 doubles and a triple.

In conference play, she upped the game with a 1.203 OPS and a .490 batting average, collecting 15 total RBI.

Haylee Carpenter - First Team All-Conference Second Base

Carpenter helped lead the charge in her year with the Saints to earn First Team All-Conference.

Through the year, she batted .314 with five doubles and a triple, driving in 26 RBI.

In conference action, the graduate student had an .869 OPS, knocking four doubles and driving in 12 RBI.

Gracie Himmelman - First Team All-Conference Outfield

Himmelman shined in her first-year campaign to garner the All-Conference nod. 

She was at the top of the league with a 1.122 OPS and .459 batting average, primarily out of the leadoff spot. She got on base at a .529 clip and knocked 11 doubles, two triples, and a home run, driving in 30 RBI.

In AEC play, Himmelman had a 1.265 OPS with five doubles, two triples, and a home run, collecting 14 RBI.

Grace Gilbert - Second Team All-Conference At-Large

Gilbert nabs a Second Team selection in her first year as a Saint after a strong season.

In conference play, she had a .988 OPS and .375 average with four doubles, knocking in 14 total RBI.

Across the season, she had eight doubles and hit at a .290 clip.

Valeria Gutierrez De Oliveira - Second Team All-Conference At-Large

The main shortstop for the Saints this season, Gutierrez De Oliveira stood out to nab an early career All-Conference selection.

She had a 1.016 OPS and .347 average through the season, knocking a team-high six home runs with 10 doubles and two triples to add. She drove in a team-high 43 RBI.

Against AEC opponents, she remained a top hitter in the league with a .972 OPS, driving in 17 RBI with five doubles, two triples, and a home run.

Samantha Richtol - Second Team All-Conference At-Large

Richtol earns her first career All-Conference selection after her junior stint.

In conference play, Richtol had a .333 batting average with a .697 OPS, driving in six RBI.

Through the season, she had a .379 batting average with a .892 OPS.
