SALISBURY, Md. - The track and field Saints competed in the Eastern Shore Challenge on Saturday, performing well in a field of strong student-athletes. 

How It Happened

• Deziree Conklin took the decisive gold in the women's 100m and 400m hurdle events, finishing with a time of 15.96 in the 100m and a 1:06.95 in the 400m. She also notched a first-place finish in the women's long jump, hitting a strong mark of 5.23m, a new personal record. 
• Samantha Healy grabbed the top spot in the women's hammer throw event, hitting a mark of 49.47m. She threw for a strong mark in the women's shot put event as well, hitting 11.71m, which was good for third-place out of a field of 12. 
• Mckayla Buehler and Shayla Wydner each notched top-three finishes in the women's javelin event. Buehler finished second with a mark of 25.42m, with Wydner at third with a mark of 24.21m.
• Charles Walker finished in a tie for second in the men's high jump event, hitting a height of 1.75m. He also had a strong finish at fourth in the triple jump, hitting a mark of 11.84m. 
• Three Saints took the top-three spots in the men's 110m hurdles. Ryan Brooks took first with a time of 15.99, Mhyrlito Daniel at second with a finishing time of 16.46, and Cole Valente rounding out the medals at 16.57, a new personal record for the junior. 
• Brooks took the gold in the 400m hurdles event for the men with a time of 56.08. Daniel was not far behind, finishing third at 60.00. 
• Agnes Signou finished first in the women's 200m dash with a time of 26.79. She also gutted out a third-place finish third in the 100m dash with a time of 13.15.

What's Next

• The Saints are scheduled to be where it counts next, competing in the Atlantic East Championships that begin on Saturday, May. 7.
