TF: Saints Earn Five First Place Finishes, Three from Senior Sam Struggs

SALISBURY, Md. -- The Marymount University men's and women's track team traveled out of state to Salisbury this weekend to compete in the Eastern Shore Challenge. The Saints travel back with many notable performances and five first place finishes. 

 NOTABLE

  • Charles Edmonds finished at 8th place in the men's shot put with a distance of 10.00 meters thrown.
  • Liam Galaspie finished 11th in the mens javelin throw while teammate Charles Edmonds finished 13th. 
  • Charles Edmonds and Jordan Tucker both had top 15 finishes in the men's discus, with Charles Edmonds finishing 12th and Jordan Tucker finishing 14th. 
  • Janiah Joyner finished 5th place in the men's long jump with a distance of 6.21 meters. 
  • Samuel Struggs claimed first place in the men's triple jump with a distance of 13.35 meters. 
  • Alongside senior Samuel Struggs, teammates Judah Onassis-Lee and Cadyn Johnson placed sixth and seventh in the men's triple jump. 
  • Henry Brys finished second place in the mens 3000m SC with an impressive time of 11:30.06.
  • Ta'Sharde Graham claimed fifth for the Saints in the men's 400 meter with a time of 51.11.
  • Samuel Struggs claimed another first pace finish in the men's 100 meter race, crossing the finish line in a time of 10.79.
  • Not too far behind Samuel Struggs, teammate Jaythan Dumas finished in third place with a time of 10.97.
  • Bryan Bivens claimed his top five finish in the men's 400 hurdle with a time of 59.49.
  • Jaythan Dumas earned a first place finish in the men's 200 meter race with a time of 21.75.
  • A school record was broken by runners Samuel Struggs, Reuben McEachern, Bryan Bivens, and Ta'Sharde Graham in the men's 4x400 relay with a time of 3:31.30.
  • On the women's side, Lindy Ahenkora earned second place in the women's shot put with a thrown distance of 10.05 meters. 
  • Lindy Ahenkora claimed fifth place in the women's hammer throw ahead of her teammate, Ihyana Mason, who earned seventh.  
  • Both Abby Hughes and Minnie Morris dominated in the women's javelin throw with Hughes earning third and Morris earning fifth. 
  • The women continued to dominate in the throwing field, with Ihyana Mason earning seventh in the women's discus. 
  • Esther Paz claimed first place in the women's pole vault, vaulting a height of 2.90 meters. 
  • Brier Amerlinck earned an impressive second place finish in the women's 1500 meter race with a time of 5:07.75.
  • Minnie Morris ran across the finish line in 13.08 in the women's 100 meter race to claim fourth. 
  • Both Abby Hughes (6th) and Maria Pullen (7th) earned top ten finishes in the women's 800 meter race. 
  • Ilana Hawkins claimed a second place finish in the women's 200 meter race with a time of 25.76.
