ARLINGTON, Va. – With two resounding victories over McDaniel on Friday afternoon at Barcroft Park, Marymount softball extended its winning streak to five games.

NOTABLE

• Morgan Hunt twirled a gem to get the win in game one, going five innings and only allowing three hits.
• Hailey Leamer was clutch at the plate, recording three RBIs in both games to finish with a total of six on the day. She went 5-for-6 on the day.
• Samantha Cinotti also went 5-for-6 on the day and finished with four RBIs.
• Kaylynn Johnson went 3-for-4 in game two with two doubles.
• The five-game win streak is the longest in the short history of Marymount softball.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• In game one, Marymount raced out to an 8-0 lead through three innings.
• Cinotti hit a two-run triple in the bottom of third to give MU that eight-run cushion.
• After McDaniel got a run back in the top of the fifth to temporarily stave off a mercy rule finish, Leamer responded with an RBI double to deep right-center to clinch the 9-1 win for the Saints.
• In game two, Johnson's RBI double in the bottom of the second inning started the scoring for Marymount. The Saints ended that inning on top, 3-0.
• McDaniel laced a bases-clearing double in the top of the fourth to tie the game at 3-3.
• Leamer hit RBI singles in both the fourth and the fifth innings to give Marymount the lead again.
• A two-run double by Cinotti and an RBI single from Johnson iced the 9-3 victory for the Saints.

UP NEXT

• Marymount will close the season with three straight road doubleheaders.
• That stretch begins on Thursday, April 21 at Washington (Md.) at 3 and 5 PM.
