WASHINGTON – Marymount softball put together two of their best performances of the season to sweep Gallaudet on the road Wednesday night.  

NOTABLE

• Marymount's 17-7 win in the first game of the night was the highest scoring output of the season for the Saints.
• Sara Emig went 3-for-4 with four RBIs in game one to highlight Marymount's offense.
• Shanyn Burch was once again impressive in the circle, going five shutout innings while only allowing two hits in a 10-0 win in the nightcap.  

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Marymount raced out to an 8-0 lead through the first three innings of game one.
• Gallaudet fought all the way back and cut the deficit to 11-7 after an error by the Saints in the fifth inning.
• The Saints rallied in the top of the sixth to score six runs and eventually win 17-7.
• Elizabeth Corcoran and Shanyn Burch both hit RBI doubles in the first inning of game two to push Marymount ahead, 2-0.
• In the fifth inning, Samantha Cinotti hit a two-run triple to left center to give the Saints an 8-0 advantage.
• The Saints added two more runs to complete a six-run fifth inning to take a 10-0 lead.
• Burch completed the shutout with a scoreless bottom of the fifth to extend Marymount's win streak to three.

• The Saints will close out a busy week with a home doubleheader on Friday afternoon against McDaniel.
• First pitch is set for 12 PM at Barcroft Park.
