Saints Earn Eighth Consecutive Win With 21-10 Drubbing of Alvernia

READING, Pa. -- The Marymount University women's lacrosse team continued to romp through its schedule on Saturday afternoon with a 21-10 demolition of Alvernia University. 

With the win, the Saints improved to 9-1 on the season, while Alvernia moved to 6-4 overall. Marymount pummeled the Golden Wolves with 38 shots throughout the contest, 30 of which found their way on target. The Saints also held the edge in ground balls, 30-26, and forced Alvernia into 20 turnovers. 

Marymount's offensive dominance was headlined by the reigning Atlantic East Conference Offensive Player of the Week, Kaleigh Dunham. The junior tallied a whopping eight points on five goals and three assists. Dunham added three ground balls and two caused turnovers to round out her performance. 

Riley Love added five goals for the Blue and White, while Taylor Young scored four goals with a perfect shots-on-goal percentage (4-for-4). Sarah Agrillo finished with four points (3g-1a) and four ground balls. Emily Peters netted a hat-trick for a three-point performance. Taylor Chepren matched Peters' point total with one goal and two assists. 

On the defensive side of the ball, Mariel Russ made nine saves in goal and tallied a team-best five ground balls. Sydney Clifford added four ground balls to finish just behind Russ for the team lead. Peters paced the Saints in caused turnovers with three. Caitlyn Dunn, Megan Edens, Dunham, and Young all added two caused turnovers apiece. 

Marymount aims to extend its win streak to nine consecutive games on Wednesday, March 30, when the Saints host Southern Virginia University at 5:00 p.m.
