BALTIMORE, Md. – Marymount University men's track and field team finished in second place at the Tri-Conference Meet on Saturday.
The Saints competed in twelve events and came out with two first-place finishes, three second-place finishes, four third-place finishes, and three fourth-place finishes.
Senior Charles Walker brought home another first place finish this week but this time in the Triple Jump with a distance of 10.55m. Walker also finished in scoring positions in the high jump and long jump, third in the high jump with 1.69m and fourth in the long jump at 6.00m. Junior Cole Valente competed in the 110m hurdles and the 200 dash but paced the field in the 200 with a time of 22.98.
Ryan Brooks followed close behind Valente in second-place. Brooks was a standout for the Saints with two second-place finishes and a hand in the team's second-place finish in the 1600m relay. Brooks ran the 400m dash in a time of 50.96 and finished the 110m hurdles with a time of 15.58. In addition to Brooks, Valente, Mhyrlito Daniel, Keyshawn Kindall, and David Donawa competed in the 1600m relay team with a time of 3:35.36.
Samuel Mercedes, Daniel, and the 400m relay team added third place finishes for the Saints, Mercedes with a discus throw of 34.09m and Daniel with a 16.00 time in the 110m hurdles. Donawa and Marcone Pessoa added points to the Saints total with fourth place finishes in the100m dash and high jump, respectively.
The Saints compete again on April 1st and 2nd at St. Mary's College of Maryland.
