Women's Lacrosse Earns Sixth-Straight Win with 21-4 Drubbing of Bridgewater

ARLINGTON, Va. -- The Marymount University women's lacrosse team earned its sixth consecutive win in high-flying fashion on Saturday afternoon with a 21-4 drubbing of Bridgewater College. 

The Saints flexed their offensive muscle throughout the tilt, as they pummeled the Eagles with 42 shots, 35 of which were on frame. The Saints went 11-for-12 on clear attempts and held the edge in ground balls, 21-14. MU's dominance started early, as Taylor young kicked off the Saints' barrage with the game's opening goal just 32 seconds into the contest. 

Young's opener kickstarted a 5-0 run that led to a 9-1 lead for the Blue and White at the end of the first quarter. Marymount shutout the Eagles in the second frame, as the Saints poured in seven goals to take a 16-1 lead. Kaleigh Dunham did the majority of the damage during the frame with four markers. The Saints tacked on a pair of goals in the third quarter and another three tallies in the final period to give the game its final scoreline.

Dunham highlighted MU's offensive showcase with seven goals. Young finished with four goals, while Sarah Agrillo (3g-1a) and Emily Peters (3g-1a)  each finished with four points. Taylor Chepren and Ella Baker each supplied three points, as Chepren tallied one goal and two assists, and Baker registered two goals and one assist. Riley Love added one goal and one assist, while Megan Edens rounded out MU's point producers with an assist.

Edens and Young paced the Saints with four ground balls apiece. Sydney Clifford and Edens finished tied for the team lead with three caused turnovers. Caitlyn Dunn and Peters each added two caused turnovers. In goal, Mariel Russ made five saves.

Marymount closes out its four-game homestand on Wednesday, March 23, when the Saints host Notre Dame University (Md.) at 5:00 p.m.
